Bernadette Durkin, a 5th-grade science teacher at John J. McLaughlin Cumberland Hill School, joined seven other Rhode Island teachers for a three-day research expedition aboard the R/V Endeavor through GSO’s Rhode Island Teachers at Sea program.

When 8 URI undergraduate Honors students took the course CSI:Oceans, they learned about whales, microscopic plankton, and how to explain their research to the world through telepresence while they were on a research cruise off Rhode Island.
