R/V Endeavor returned to her homeport at the GSO pier on March 11. Endeavor just finished up a very successful dockside repair period at Senesco Ship Yard. All her weather decks were freshly painted.  The Main Crane received an overhaul of boom and crowd cylinders, pump, motor, new wear pads and sheave bearings, and other components.  Along with the usual winter preventative maintenance items, she also received an overhaul to the Anchor Windlass and J-Frame, a new OWS (Oily Water Separator), renewed Main Engine Turbo, and slip rings, brushes and bearings on the ships service turbo generators (SSTGs) and cleaned and baked windings. Director of Marine Operations Tom Glennon praised the highly talented Port Engineer, Dan Alexander, and the ship’s crew and technicians who took on most of these tasks themselves.

R/V Endeavor will be heading out for the first science cruise this season on March 16.  You can follow her track at http://techserv.gso.uri.edu/EndeavorNow.asp
