Academic Resources

Our students are both leaders and partners in their own academic success. Utilizing DAI approved, reasonable accommodations, engaging in self-care, responsible management and participation in treatment, and connecting with the numerous academic resources available at URI are key components to reaching your goals.

Listed below are campus and off-campus resources for URI students:

Academic Enhancement Center

The Academic Enhancement Center (AEC) was created to help students invest in their academic success, with learning support programs and services to empower students to become more skillful and successful. The AEC offers unique resources including 3 forms of tutoring in the STEM disciplines – weekly tutoring groups, occasional sessions, and a drop-in center to provide assistance in challenging STEM courses.

The Undergraduate Writing Center provides individual and group support for students in all disciplines, at all stages of the writing process.

The Graduate Writing Center provides graduate-level writing support to all URI doctoral and masters’ students. They work to assist in the continuation of students’ development of academic and professional writing skills. AEC also offers Academic Skills consultations, UCS 160: Success in Higher Education, a one-credit, graded, online course that helps students develop a strategic approach to learning and studying in college, and a Study Your Way To Success Web Portal with videos, web articles, tip sheets, and activities for the best strategies available about learning and studying in college.
