April 11 – no hatch and eggs still orange
Hello,
All the eggs I’m checking are still orange. Eggs turn blue a few days before they hatch, so I think we are still at least several days away from winter moth eggs hatching.
According to Growing Degree Day model on The Weather Channel website:

in Kingston, according to the Degree Day model, the eggs could start hatching as soon as April 14. Winter moth eggs are supposed to start hatching between 177-239 GDD base 40. For Kingston that is some time between April 14 and April 24.
