4/14/03 – green tip
4/21/03 – half inch green
4/28/03 – tight cluster
5/5/03 – full pink
5/9/03- bloom
5/18/03- petal fall

 

Primary apple scab infection periods:
4/22/03 – 26 hours at 45 degrees
4/26/03 – 30 hours at 47 degrees
4/29/03 – for areas that received late afternoon showers
5/1/03 – 29 hours at 57 degrees
5/6/03 – 29 hours at 51 degrees
5/8/03 –
5/12/03 – probable infection period, really wet all day
5/21/03 – 5/24/03 – infection period at least 80 hours long at 52 degrees
5/26/01 – 24 hours at
 51 degrees
This was probably the last primary apple scab infection period of the season. Shorter wetting periods are required to cause secondary apple scab infection periods.
